Asian Tradition, French Flair and Growing Modernity
With delicious Vietnamese aromas, small silk shops and ancient pagodas, the streets of Ho Chi Minh City dazzle tourists with their vibrant atmosphere. Its rich culture includes beautiful French colonial palaces mixed with modern skyscrapers that show the power of Vietnam’s economic capital.
Whether you decide to visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the City Hall, or the Municipal Theater, you’ll see the care shown by Saigonese people in preserving their historic legacy. On the other hand, the Haussmann-style boulevards are typically packed with small motorcycles that make every street crossing a whole new experience.
Contemporary Saigon can be seen in places like the Bitexco Financial Tower, located directly at central Ham Nghi Blvd. Meanwhile, Saigon Center or Zen Plaza are some of its modern shopping malls.
For a look into Vietnam’s recent history, don’t miss the Reunification Palace or the War Remnants Museum. A sunset visit to the 23rd September Park is the best way to mingle with the locals.
Indulge yourself in one of the 5-star Ho Chi Minh hotels, or stay in a budget hotel at Pham Ngu Lao Street. Don’t miss the Ho Chi Minh City accommodations on Booking.com before arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport!
Ho Chi Minh is a typically nice but BUSY city. Scooters everywhere so you have to be really vigilant, not sure i’d bring young children. Definitely worth the trip to see Bui Vien walking street (it’s full of fun bars and restaurants so better at night) and the Ben Thanh street food market was amazing- such a good selection of cuisines. The Ben Thanh market is huge, make sure you go first thing in the morning as if you’re the first buyer it’s good luck so you get a good price! Make sure you haggle otherwise they try to charge 2x what it’s worth! Trying the traditional iced egg coffee is a MUST- it’s surprisingly so sweet and delicious! Japanese Soft Cream was yum too! Really recommend booking a tour of the Chu Chi tunnels through a provider, as there’s so signs or information there so you don’t get any background on what each hut/tunnel was used for, where as a guide will talk you through it. The Notre Dame cathedral was anticlimactic as its undergoing renovation.

So much to see and do.
So much to see and do. We only had 2 days 4 would have been enough.
Traffic was mesmerising to watch how they weaved between Each other without crashing. Barter in the markets as they real max the prices. One stall asking 6 million for a vase. The factory where they were made charged 2 million.
The war museum is really worth visiting heart breaking stories.
Cu chi Tunnels great makes you really understand what and how they had to live.

I have used Xanh sm apps for a mean of travel around the city. Le Van Tam park on Hai Ba Trung street was famous for papaya dried beef salad. This place was crowded with young people from 3pm to 6pm. Ho Thi Ky in District 10 well known for night market with variety street food vendors. There is also Vien Khanh street in District 4 known for night market which is a walking distance from Bui Vien

This was my fourth visit to HCM.
This was my fourth visit to HCM. Admittedly it is for work so we are busy most days. I just love the atmosphere in the City. Absolutely amazing restaurants, a great mix of local culture and modern design. There are great spaces such as The Workshop which allows you to work and have coffee without paying a premium for the space. The people are so friendly and once you learn how to cross the roads (with confidence and without pausing!) you can walk around easily.

There is some really nice sights, buzzing city but massive lack in any hospitality or made to feel welcome by the locals, probably the worst I’ve encountered so far in south east Asia, we read that the Vietnamese people are friendlier in the south so where worried for the rest of our trip however we have arrived in Da Nang and the people couldn’t be nicer, glad we left Ho Chi Minh and if we done it again would only stay one night.

This hotel is one of the best places that we have stayed in Ho Chi Minh city with a budget. It is very centrally located with shops, restaurants; only 2 minutes walking to Ben Thanh street.
This is a new brand hotel but exceptional staff! From manager to the porter.
I recently had an exeptional stay here with thanks to the outstanding service provided by theie staff. From the moment we arrived, their warmth made me feel at home. I liked to thank Mr Dat, Mr Hieu and his staff for being such an amazing team. Will strongly recommended!
The Majestic is my favorite 5 star hotel in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and staying in the Graham Green suite or one like it (majestic suite) is a great value for the size of it as well as feeling transported to. period when Graham Green was alive and writing something like The Quiet American which is an atmospheric movie and I need to read the book! I live in Saigon now because it’s a paradise for single men who like massages whether you need a happy ending or not!
Great location for Bhan Tan market, GPO, Notre Dam, War remnants museum and restaurants in district 1.
Plentiful breakfast.
Premium deluxe room with city view was good size with comfortable bed and good shower.
WiFi was good.
Very helpful general hotel staff.
Receptionists excellent in tour/taxi and general counsel.
Spa on 1st floor is separately managed. NHA was an excellent masseuse.
Hotel also has pool and gym but we did not have time to participate.
The service was outstanding. The personnel was very friendly and helpful, especially the General Manager, Mr. Nguyen Ngo Phi Long. The breakfast was outstanding with many local and Western options. The hotel is very well located, in District 1 at the heart of little Japan (one of Saigon's most buzzing areas), within very easy walking distance to City Hall, Tan Binh market and the Independance Palace. We highly recommend this hotel.
A great place to stay and enjoy Ho Chi Minh City. Located in the center of the city, it has all important places near it along with a places for money exchange as well. The staff are polite and very friendly and are always ready to help you with any guidance or booking cabs, trips, etc. The only problem might be that it has only stairs and no lift. So if you get rooms in 4th pr 5th floors it might get difficult for the elderly.
I really like the owner and the staff. They took care of feverything that I needed. They actually went outside to get me some amenities and deliver it to my room. I've never been so happy. in my life at a hotel. And if you're ever in Vietnam and district one in Ho Chi Minh City, this is the best place to go to in my opinion for the price. Yeah this hotel is on par with hotels in san Francisco california.
We liked the size of the appartment, the view, location and pool.
We got an appartment in the building called Millenium, not Rivergate, it was placed on the other side of the highway. We were on 30rd floor, non of the pictures on Booking.com shows this appartment, we didnt know that before arrival. It takes about 20 min with kids to walk to the city district 1, but it is cheap with taxi/grab too.
Located in district 1, it was extremely easy to explore the city. The hotel is a very good choice if you have a busy schedule and spend time exploring HCMC. If you plan to spend time and relax at the hotel as well, we think it's not the place to be. However, the city has so much to offer, hence, we think it's very good value for money if you're more of an active person.
We liked the location because it is close to the main attractions like museum and market. It is in District 1, backpackers area. The location is nearby the nightlife but so far it is quiet at night. We liked the cleanliness and the stay is value for money considering it is in a big city. Also we were happy that they have life.
The breakfast was excellent! We really enjoyed the fruit and coffee especially! We spent a great deal of time at the pool and it was lovely! The staff were also exceptional, so kind and accommodating and they helped with everything we needed. Would highly recommend this hotel to any friends visiting Ho Chi Minh city.
quite close to opera house, harldy five minute walking distance from main attaraction of District 1 and saigon city, Room is neat and clean, Being a vegetarian Breakfast is not suitable , need to add some food for Vegetarian Guest, Staff is very friendly speacialy Male staff on reception and at Gate also
We loved our stay at Sunny Guest House. It was in a great location in District 1 and within walking distance to many restaurants and the market. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Everyone was frieny and helpful. We will definitely stay again when we are in Ho Chi Minh City.
Our main contact here was the owner's son Thai (I am not sure about the spelling). He was amazing. We were close to the very noisy Walking Street in Ho Chi Minh City - but from our room at the back of the hotel we didn't hear a thing.
The bed was very comfortable.
The blue diamond luxury hotel was a great place to stay to see Ho Chi Minh City. The staff were all very friendly providing excellent service, with the rooms being big and spacious, in an excellent location near the city centre in district 1. would highly recommend
This is my first stay at Nicecy Boutique Hotel, my impression is that the hotel is very large, located in the heart of District 1, near Ben Thanh market. I will come back and recommend friends to stay here.
I was impressed by the hospitality of the staff! I would like to choose this hotel again when I come to Ho Chi Minh City. The minimum amenities are provided, and towels and bed sheets are changed daily.
Great location in District 1, quaint tucked away from the craziness of the big city, but walkable to many restaurants and attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
Located in district 1, close to everything in HCMC. The location gives a contrast of the two faces of a bustling city! The common kitchen is nice with all amenities.
